ITS UNIX Systems

Contributed Software

Users of ITS UNIX systems can share software for use on those systems. User-contributed software is not supported by ITS.

How to Contribute

Email contrib@virginia.edu to let us know you want to contribute. Each contribution should include:

  • program source code that has been compiled and used on an ITS machine
  • any and all files that were included with the source code distribution
  • name of the machine architecture for which the source was compiled
  • a message stating where the code came from
  • a brief description (overview of the program)

ITS reserves the right not to install contributed software that does not provide benefit to other users or software that conflicts with other University policies. You will be notified as to whether or not your contribution was accepted. Games or other frivolous programs will not be installed.
