ITS UNIX Systems
Services
ITS's UNIX Systems Group is responsible for administration and support of the UNIX operating systems on ITS's and other University departments' UNIX-based computers. We support AIX and Linux operating systems on a variety of hardware platforms.
Other responsibilities of the group include the Network Appliance filers which make up the Home Directory Service.
Services
We provide both fee-based and free services for UNIX systems to the University community. These services include:
Documentation
- Account Management with MyGroups
- AIX Operating System
- The Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) System
- Filesystem Backup Service

The mailing list for UNIX systems staff is systems@virginia.edu. This is not a closed list, and other people may also be subscribed, but the list does include all of the UNIX systems group.
