Web Certification Professional Development Courses
Professional development courses are offered periodically for individuals seeking advanced and up-to-date knowledge in current Web issues and maintenance topics. Past topics have included overviews of search engines, UNIX tips, relevant software upgrades, and other hot topics.
UNIX for Web Designers
The UNIX for Web Designers course is designed to provide an easy, hands-on introduction to using the UNIX operating system to manage web sites and troubleshoot common errors you may encounter in maintaining websites. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to do the following: navigate within the directory structure of the UNIX environment; implement file management in UNIX; view and modify file and directory permissions; and implement troubleshooting techniques to solve real world Web problems.
Flash
Flash is a Web development tool, which allows you to draw and manipulate graphics to create sophisticated website features from simple animated graphics or navigation tools to complex animated sequences with sound. The Flash Fundamentals-ITS class will explore the Flash environment, including how Flash handles vector and raster graphics; basic vector drawing and painting tools; manipulating objects on single and multiple layers; working with text; the three types of animation available in Flash; and publishing completed Flash movies.
