UVa’s Microsoft Contracts

Discounted Microsoft Software for the UVa Community

The UVa community can obtain Microsoft products at a discount through the Microsoft Campus Agreement and the Microsoft Select contract (compare the plans). Use this wizard to find the best way to obtain Microsoft software depending on your classification and needs.

You can also use the tables on the “How to Obtain Your Microsoft Software” page to aid you in learning how to get your discounted UVa Microsoft products.

The software I am purchasing is for:

University-owned computer (departmental use)
Personally-owned computer (departmental or personal use)

I am purchasing this software to run on:

a Windows computer
a Macintosh running Windows

I am an employee in:

a state-funded agency or unit
a locally-funded agency or unit

Don't know? Ask your organization's fiscal administrator.

I am:

a student (not in SCPS), including BIS
an SCPS student
a UVa employee

As a student through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, you are not covered by UVa's Microsoft software licenses. You can still buy Microsoft and other software from Cavalier Computers at standard educational pricing. And if you are also affiliated with the University as a faculty or staff member, you can still qualify for special pricing—just re-run this wizard from the top again, answering as an employee.

If your organization is locally-funded, software licensing may apply differently to you than if you were employed in a state-funded entity. To find out what pricing is applicable for you, please email the license administrator.

I want to purchase:

The Windows operating system (covered products)
Microsoft Office (Windows and Mac versions)
Other Microsoft Product

I want to purchase:

The Windows operating system (covered products)
Microsoft Office (Windows and Mac versions)
Other Microsoft product

If you are looking for a Microsoft product that is not Windows or Office (e.g., Visio, a server operating system, etc.), please see Other Available Microsoft Products.

Since this is a personally-owned machine, for a product other than Windows or Office (e.g., Visio, a server operating system, etc.), you will need to buy the retail academic version of the application.

Pricing: free download. (You must already have Windows on your computer so this is only an upgrade.)
