How to Become an "Associated" User of UVa's Site License
UVa MATLAB users who want to "associate" themselves with UVa's site license will need the following information:
- The UVa MATLAB site license number, available by logging into the ITS licensing database to access MATLAB license information, including the Personal License Password (PLP) and the license.dat file.
- An Access Login account:
- Go to http://www.mathworks.com/accesslogin/createProfile.do and create a new account.
- Complete and submit the Access Login account form:
- Be sure to use your UVa email address (e.g., mst3k@virginia.edu) in completing the account form. The email address you provide must end with the at (@) symbol and "virginia.edu". So mst3k@itc.virginia.edu will not work, but mst3k@virginia.edu will.
- Under Software Usage, choose "Academic use (including campus/site license use)".
- Association with a license:
- Go to the Mathworks website, choose Support, and under "Manage my account", click "Customer Service Options" to go to the License Center. In this section, click "Associate me with a license."
- Click "License User Contact" and enter our UVa license number and your UVa e-mail address. (The UVa license number is in the license.dat file downloaded from the ITS Software Licensing Database/website.)
- You will be "associated" within 24 hours.
MATLAB users who are associated with UVa's site license can then go to the Mathworks website to download licensed products, and then install them using the PLP (for Windows) and license.dat file obtained from the ITS Software Licensing Database.
