ITS Announcement/Personal Disk Storage Quota Increase (Email and Home Directory)

Dec 06, 2010

ITC is raising free storage quotas for everyone on the Home Directory Service (HDS), UVa Central Mail Service (CMS), and UVa Centralized Exchange Service. Quotas for each account will increase from 2 GB to 4 GB. The quota increases will occur automatically and no additional configuration is required on the part of account holders. Anyone who currently pays for storage in addition to 2 GB will see the higher free quota reflected on the next invoice.

Personal storage quota increases will go into effect on or before Monday, Dec. 6th, 2010, for all accounts on the CMS and HDS. Please note that the new 4 GB quota for CMS accounts will be 4 GB in total, but each individual email folder (including your Inbox) may not exceed 2 GB -- this is a requirement specific to the CMS system. ITC recommends that you keep all CMS folder sizes well below 2 GB.

Late in the spring semester of 2011, personal storage quota increases for the UVa Centralized Exchange service will go into effect as well. This will occur after the completion of ITC's migration from Exchange Server 2007 to Exchange Server 2010.
