Which Help Desk for Wired Network Help?
The chart below lists which University of Virginia Help Desk should be contacted for network problems in UVa Medical Center buildings. (All other UVa building network problems should be referred to ITS.)
UVa Data Network Building Management Overview
The responsibility for managing the University data network is shared between Information Technology Services (ITS) and Health System Computing Services (HSCS).
While the two groups cooperate on the management of the main Grounds-wide backbone, the primary responsibility for the network inside individual buildings is assigned to one of the two organizations. The general dividing line is that HSCS is responsible in buildings that focus on patient care or hospital management, while ITS is responsible in all other areas.
Customers with data network problems should contact the Help Desk of the support organization for their building according to the chart below:
