About Sympa
Sympa is the University of Virginia’s mailing list creation and management service. It is also:
- an open-source mailing list product developed in France;
- an acronym for Systeme de Multi-Postage Automatique, meaning “Automatic Mailing System;”
- provides a “just-in-time” embedded help system to facilitate ease of use; and
- replaces the older Mailman system, which retired in June 2010.
